Chartwell Suite
Named after Sir Winston Churchill's famous private home in Kent, the Chartwell Suite is the largest of the hotel's function rooms and can accommodate up to 350 guests, 240 for a seated dinner, 180 for a smaller dinner with a private dance floor or 350 people for a cocktail party. The Chartwell Suite can also be partitioned into two self-contained entertaining areas, providing considerable flexibility. The Chartwell Suite has ample pre-event space adjacent to the room and is also close to The Montagu restaurant with views over Portman Square. The Library is also located nearby and can be used for pre-event receptions or registrations.
Situated on the ground floor, The Chartwell Suite has recently undergone a soft refurbishment to enhance the room. This venue now provides a contemporary and elegant feel, featuring grey satin panelled walls which are accented by large, open bevelled mirrors. Graceful chandeliers offer beautiful lighting, creating a romanic setting for the special day. The new chocolate and pale grey carpet emphasises the grand structure of the room, and a marble recess holding a Romanesque style stone urn, offers a focussed feature to this stylish space.

The Library
The Library provides a highly distinctive venue with a tall, domed ceiling and fine architectural details. The shelves are lined with antique books and the atmosphere reflects that of a private room in a stately home.
The Library is ideally suited to smaller wedding parties, where the striking architecture enhances the sense of occasion. It can also be used as a reception room prior to an event held in the Chartwell Suite and can accommodate 48 guests for a small intimate dinner, or up to 60 guests for a cocktail reception. In addition, The Library opens up to The Libray foyer ensuring that it can accommodate up to 180 people for a reception.
As our hotel prides itself on holding a wedding licence to perform civil ceremonies, the Library, with its domed ceiling, is the perfect location to celebrate a wedding with a smaller circle of friends and family.

Portman Square Garden
The tranquil gardens of Portman Square offer a stunning setting for receptions and official photographs. At just under 2.5 acres in size, the square was originally laid out circa 1780 and was completely landscaped in the early 1900s which resulted in its current form, with informal winding paths, a central lawn and large Plane trees lining the square. The square can be hired via the Garden Square Trustees on a half- or full-day rate with access to the square starting from 7:00am. All events within the square must finish by 10:00pm.
